Scotch Steel brick found in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

Scotch Steel brick found next to the old asylum in Kingston, Ontario, Canada by Eric Marchand.

The maker of this brick is unconfirmed but I do believe the following manufacturer is a strong contender and the advert below appeared in the Iron and Steel  25th January 1889.

Eglinton Silica bricks – Scotch Steel Makers – patent chrome ore bricks and patent alumina bricks – The Eglinton Chemical Company, 27 St Vincent Street, Glasgow.

Below – Note the word Scotch appears to be formed on a slight arc.
