13/09/1879 – Glasgow Herald – Rutherglen. On Thursday the Valuation Appeal Court for the Burgh of Rutherglen was held, Provost King presiding. Mr Jas. Murray, Kildale Brickworks, appealed against the valuation of his works at £50 and claimed the deduction because the work having been idle for more than a year. It was agreed to reduce to £40.
