1931 – List of distinctive marks, trade names and trademarks appearing on bricks, tiles, stone and sanitary ware states that fire bricks stamped ‘Beaver’ were being manufactured by Campbell & Co along with bricks stamped ‘Phoenix’, ‘Vulcan’ and ‘Forth’. Roughcastle Firebrick Works, Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire. Such a brick is still to be located.

Found by Peter Shapter in the at Kelligrews, Newfoundland, Canada. Peter states – It was found near an abandoned railway track so it may have been in a firebox of a locomotive. If my suspicion is correct it had a firebox for coal. But it may have been converted to oil-fired in its last days…
