Beaver

1931 – “A list of distinctive marks, trade names and trademarks appearing on bricks, tiles, stone and sanitary ware” states that fire bricks stamped ‘Beaver’ were being manufactured by Campbell & Co along with bricks stamped ‘Phoenix’, ‘Vulcan’ and ‘Forth’. (Note – SBH – I have a hard copy of this document. I have not seen it duplicated online).

Roughcastle Firebrick Works, Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire.

Such a brick is still to be located.

Below – This partial firebrick was found by Ian Suddaby on waste ground at the old Dalzell Iron & Steel Works, Motherwell, North Lanarkshire. It could well be a ‘Beaver’ brick from the Roughcastle Firebrick Works, Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire.

This example is not in my possession.
