Carmichael Alloa Patent Patent

Found by Andrew Wood in Alloa.

Alloa Brick & Tile Works, Craigward, Clackmannanshire.

This brick was produced by W. R. & J Carmichael. Brick & Tile works of Alloa. The brick is also stamped on the other side, the word ‘PATENT’ appearing twice.  The Company supplied some of the elaborate polychrome brickwork for Templeton’s Carpet Factory in Glasgow built-in 1889; and modelled on the Doge’s Palace, Venice – now the Templeton Business Centre.
