1858 – Mineral Statistics of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland for 1858 – Stonehouse, clay of coal measures. Name of freeholder – Captain McNeill Hamilton. Manufacturer – Andrew Smith. Manufacture -Bricks and tiles.

1858 – 1861 – ScotlandsPlaces – Burnhead Tileworks. A manufactory composed of wooden sheds and a brick kiln for making tiles for draining purposes. Wrought by Andrew Smith of Burnhead. The property of Captain McNeil Hamilton.

14/02/1914– Hamilton Advertiser – Deaths. At Wheelock, Corry, Penn, USA on the 11th December 1913, Robert Smith aged 72 years, eldest son of the late Andrew Smith of Kittymuir and Machan Tileworks, Larkhall. Inserted by his brother George, 6 St, Johns Lane, Hamilton.
