Below – ‘Don’t spit on side walk’ brick. Dr Samuel Crumbine of Dodge City was one of the leading figures in the field of public health in the early 20th century. His health campaigns – including this brick admonishing “Don’t Spit on Sidewalk” – had wide-reaching consequences.

Below – J. W McMillan, Milledgeville, GA
J.W. McMillian was born in Scotland in 1850, into a Presbyterian family. McMillian subsequently immigrated to the United States, living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for a time. He then moved to Madison, Georgia.
McMillian later moved to Milledgeville, Georgia, where he established the Milledgeville Brickworks. The brickworks had six kilns and produced as many as 2,000 bricks per day
