Below – 25/05/1886 – The Scotsman –  The International Exhibition Edinburgh – Granolithic is a form of high-grade concrete ‘invented’ by Stuart and Co, Edinburgh.

Note the reference to Prestongrange Coal and Fire Brick Company, Glenboig Fire Clay Company, Garterrie (Gartverrie) Fireclay Company, James Dougall & Sons Bonnybridge, James Brown Glasgow, Robert Brown & Son Paisley, J & M Craig Kilmarnock and Dunfermline, Charles Buick & Sons Alloa, J Young Sons & Co Coatbridge and Garnkirk and Bonnybridge Silica and Fire Clay Company and Dunmore Pottery  also listed among others as exhibitors.

Below – 15/04/1898 – Montrose, Arbroath and Brechin review – John Lindsay & Son, slaters, slate and cement merchants, concrete workers … For the last 10 years Mr John Lindsay has been on the staff of Stuart’s Granolithic Co, London …
