Found in Broxburn by George Liddle.
This is a length of a glazed sewer or water pipe that has been halved and was sold as electric cable or other like cable conduit. George remembers seeing some of these in situ in the ground. The bottom half is laid out and the cable run along the length and then the top have is used to cover it all.

Equally, they are seen in catalogues advertised as salt-glazed channels/gutters for directing water into manholes etc. They would sit flush with the ground surface and channel the water to the desired destination.

Found by Nick Shaw in the Dingwall area. These appear to have been manufactured from a concrete /cement mix. The manufacturer is unknown but find location would suggest Scottish origins but … Due to the find location, it is possible they were made at the Lairg Quarry and Brick Company Ltd, Lairg, Sutherland. . ….

Found. by Bob Banks in the Dunfermline area. Southhook and Shawsrigg Fire clay Co Ltd, Bonnyton Works, Kilmarnock. This brick is stamped ‘Southhook and Shawsrigg’ to one side and ‘Kilmarnock Scotland NB’ to the other. . . . .
Found by Tucker Kennedy on the Ayrshire coast. Unidentified maker. Find location would suggest Scottish origins but … HT = High Tension? . . .
Found in Larkhall. Note the connector lugs and recesses are located on the longest sides of this cover which is unusual as they are normally located on the shortest sides. This appears to have been manufactured to protect a very wide cable or several cables lying side by side. Unknown manufacturer but the Registered Design…
