Found on the Firth of Clyde, Glasgow.
This appears to be a firebrick and there are possible missing letters prior to the ‘savage’.
There was a company called Savage and Williams in Birmingham making bricks but I believe these were building bricks.
This brick is possibly from further afield and possibly a product of the Mount Savage Fire Clay Works, Maryland, USA.
Company history.
They marked some of their bricks ‘Mount Savage’ which would probably fit the missing letters of this brick.
