GQ F 679

This special shape was found by Ian Suddaby on the site of the long vanished locomotive engine sheds at Carlisle. Several other firebricks found nearby were parts of a locomotive firebox and this might have been too. I imagine a shaft of some function went through the hole.

This example is not in my possession.
