This brick was found by Ian Suddaby at the site of the old Brunstane Mill, Joppa, Edinburgh.
The brick clearly shows that a 3 pronged lifting tool was used to move it prior to firing.
Not also the rectangular ‘stop’ too that would prevent the prongs being unnecessarily shoved too far in.
