This brick was found in St Petersburg, Russia by Vladimir Smirnov. The manufacturer is unknown. The ‘look’ and fabric of the brick does suggest Scottish origins but … In particular, the brick has a ‘look’ of a P & M Hurll, Glenboig product. 1931 – List of distinctive marks, trade names and trademarks appearing on bricks, tiles, stone and sanitary ware states that fire bricks stamped ‘Beaver’ were being manufactured by Campbell & Co along with bricks stamped ‘Phoenix’, ‘Vulcan’ and ‘Forth’.
