Found Wallyford, East Lothian.

Found amongst a pile of old Preston Grange bricks

Technically this is an unidentified brick – find location would suggest Scottish origins but …

This mark could refer to Bell and Mclauchlan, Brick and Drain Tile maker, Shortroads, (Shortroods) Paisley but I believe red building brick was the main brick product manufactured at Shortroods.

However, I believe B & M may stand for Barr & McJannet, Doura Fireclay and Terracotta Works, Kilwinning.

Below – There is a W on a side face.
