High alumina refractory – high strength under load, good spalling resistance and excellent volume stability.

Glass  furnaces, ceramic kilns (structure and kiln furniture), non ferrous metal furnaces and burner blocks.


Harley Marshall, ex Export Manager at the Stein Manuel Works, Whitecross states that the Mullite firebricks were used in crematoriums as they wer eresistant to the corrosive action of body ashes and fats. They contained high alumina oxide contents and were expensive.
