SP50 MSA 3

Found at Stein Manuel Works, Whitecross

I believe MSA will stand for Multiple Support arch as per this link

“MSA” SUSPENDED ARCH The Detrick Multiple Support Arch is available in multiple thickness’ to meet many individual furnace requirements. Multiple Support tile are interlocking, pre-fired refractory shapes available in several refractory qualities. Each tile interlocks with the adjacent tile, providing system strength and integrity through this basic design feature.

Stein made such bricks under licence. – M.H Detrick – The M.H. Detrick Company is a heat refractory manufacturing company, based out of Mokena, Illinois. The company manufactures suspended refractory constructions and industrial heat enclosures to various businesses. Founded in 1925, the M.H. Detrick Company started in Illinois as a heat enclosure manufacturer. Although the company began as a relatively small business, it quickly became an industry leader in heat enclosures and began adding various heat enclosure products to its line, such as refractory linings and steel.

I believe this is a Stein product and will record it as such unless evidence suggests otherwise.
