29/06/1849 – Kelso Chronicle  – Opening of the Berwick and Kelso Railway. The Scremerston Coal and Lime Company beg to intimate that on the opening of the above line of railway they will be enabled to supply the public with coal, lime, drain and roofing tiles, fire bricks etc at the different Stations on moderate terms. For prices apply to Mr A Darling, Berwick, their agent who will attend Market every Friday. Scremerston Colliery Office Berwick Upon Tweed 19/06/1849.
