James Carey or Kerry, Brick and Tile Maker, Kilmarnock.

20/04/1835 – Caledonian Mercury – Circuit Court of Judiciary, Ayr.  14/04/1835 – James Carey or Kerry, Brick and Tile Maker, Kilmarnock was accused of falsehood, fraud and wilful imposition. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to be imprisoned at Ayr jail for 6 calendar months and to be kept at hard labour. (Note – SBH – I am uncertain whether Mr Kerry owned or ran a brickworks or was employed as a labourer making bricks and tiles.)

Below – This ‘Kerry’ stamped brick was found in Corrientes Province, Argentina by Cris Pasquali. This is most likely made at an unknown brickworks at Kerry, Near Newton, Powys, Wales but I have added it here just in case it is a product of James Kerry.
