Ignis is a J & R Howie trademark. Surely, ‘Ingis’ is supposed to read ‘Ignis’?

Why do so many ‘Ignis’ fire bricks turn up at the Bonnyside Brickworks? Did Dougall, Bonnyside Brickworks take over the brand name at some point?
