Heatheryknowe Patent Glasgow brick found in Nevada, USA

These bricks are housed within the Nevada State Museum and Carson City Mint, Carson City, Nevada, USA.

Below – The museum describes the brick as – Refractory brick (clay). High silica firebrick was imported from Glasgow, Scotland. Note ‘Carson’ shipping information written on side of brick. These bricks were used to line furnaces. (Note – SBH – My own thought is that it is one of Heatheryknowe’s ‘cream coloured facing bricks’ albeit these bricks were probably made from fireclay too).
