G & A Scotland brick found on Prince Edward Island, Canada.

G & A Scotland or possibly C & A Scotland.

Found on the shores of the Northumberland Strait near  Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada by Natacha Soliman.

The maker is unidentified.

The brickmark would suggest Scottish origins but …

There is the distinct possibility that this fire brick was manufactured in Scotland for an overseas customer and that the G & A or C & A brickmark are the initials of that customer. There are many examples of Scottish manufactured bricks being marked with the customer’s name rather than the maker’s name.
