Found Darnley, Glasgow

Unidentified maker.

Find location would suggest Scottish origins but…

It was found nearby several bricks marked Gwersyll which is a confirmed Welsh brick. Both the G and the Gwersyll examples are marked on the side of the brick. The were also several Stein Bluebell bricks lying nearby. All have the same physical characteristics and colouring.



23/07/2015 – I have found another ‘G’ brickmark at the Coltness Iron Works, Newmains and again it was found directly along side a Gwersyll brick – I am now confident that G is a Gwersyll brick. See below for relevant photos.
