Unidentified maker. Find location would suggest Scottish origins but….
Michael states that this brick came from a flat arch window design. The keystone (middle) would be marked one and each brick to the left and right would be marked to assist with the build. So the brick to the left and right of the keystone would be marked II or 2, the next either side III or 3 etc etc.
The brick marked ‘5’ is stamped to the end.

Found in woodland on the site of the old Hilton Fire Clay Works, Alloa. They are not marked Buick or Hilton but they were found on-site and they were found among Buick white glazed bricks. Their appearance appears very similar to the Buicks. I have at this time no reason to believe they were made elsewhere…
