29/05/1858 – Paisley Herald and Renfrewshire Advertiser – New buildings in Glasgow … On the south side of the river, near Lily Bank, a large space of ground between Eglinton Street and Pollokshaws Road, long occupied by a brickfield, is now being speedily transformed into streets of beautiful houses. About 240 feet length of building fronting Eglinton Street was erected last summer, and above 150 feet additional is being added this summer to complete the property belonging to Messrs McIntyre, Baird, and Stevenson, who are also the builders.
