Callander Brickworks, Callander, Stirlingshire

Callander Brickworks, Callander, Stirlingshire (Note – SBH – It is not certain if these were ever built. Does anyone have any information on the works or Charles Findlay?).

Sept 1958 – Clay Workers magazine (V67 797) – Callander. Sample bricks made from shale from an 800-acre site near the Hydropathic Hotel, Callander. The aim is to build a new oil-fired brickworks. Mr Charles Findlay bought the old Parish Estate 2 years ago and is the man behind the brickworks. The works are hoped to be in production by 1959 and manufacturing 100,000 bricks per week. There is no other brickworks for 30 miles (Info supplied by Ann Los, East Yorks, England).

1969 – Map showing the Hydropathic Hotel, Callander but no reference to a nearby brickworks.
