A. Bald Alloa brick found on a shipwreck of the coast of Denmark

This example was found on a carvel-built ship, wrecked on the west coast in the Northern part of Denmark in the North Sea close to shore.

The wreck at this time is unidentified. However for a brick to be stamped A. Bald, Alloa you are looking at a time span of 1810 – 1860.

Many thanks to Tine Karlsen who is investigating the wreck and forwarded the photograph of the brick.

I look forward to an update in due course.
