William Brown, Broomielaw, Glasgow

I have added this newspaper article for interest’s sake. William Brown, Broomielaw, Glasgow is advertising ‘draining slates’ or ‘sole slates’ for sale. These slates would be used instead of clay sole plates under the join of two drainage tiles.

26/07/1862 – Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald – The subscriber continues to supply Welsh slates for roofing and draining and has just received a large assortment of best quality and most suitable sizes.
