Below- 1852 – Map of  Whitehill Tile Works

29/12/1864 – Falkirk Herald – Fatal accident at Whitehill near Dalkeith. On Thursday morning, a lad named James Cunningham, 14 years of age, was walking through the engine room of Whitehill Brick Work when he was caught by the flywheel and driven round several times. The engine was soon stopped but the poor lad died soon after he was extricated.
