Longriggs Brick and Tile Works, Coalsnaughton, Clackmannanshire

Longriggs Brick and Tile Works, Coalsnaughton, Stirlingshire may in fact just have been a clay pit and a source of clay for John Govan at Cornton Brick and Tile Works, Stirling.

Below – 1861 – Longriggs Farm. (Note – SBH – I can find no reference to a brickworks or claypits around Longriggs on the OS maps available to me online).

1877 – Peter and John Govan, brickmakers, joint tenants of surface clay, Longriggs.(Page 53)

1877 – M Penman, Brickmaker, Longriggs. (Page 45).

29/03/1888 – The Scotsman – The following are candidates for Stirling Burgh Council … John Govan, brick and tile manufacturer. (Note – SBH – I believe this is John Govan of Cornton Brick and Tile Works, Stirling but I also believe he may be the same John Govan as owning the claypits or brickworks at Longriggs)
