The 19 3 45 appears to be a date. This is a very large heavy special. The ‘J’ of John is either very faint or missing.
There is heavy vitrification to one side of the broken block.

Found by Eddie McLean in the Glasgow area. James Goldie and Son, Westholm or Westthorn Brickworks, Glasgow. The ‘Goldie’ stamp comprises of raised letters. This stamp has however been stamped over a Jas Goldie & Son, Old Langside Road, Glasgow 1885. This brick is frogged to both sides. . . .
