Helen says ” We are a small community of under 10,000 and the town arose from the Edwards Mill in the mid to late 1800s. It is a Francophone community. Our home, a millers home, is dated approximately 1905 however, a fire razed the town and some homes were either lost or partially lost during the heatwave of 1911 … The brick we found in our yard in Rockland, Ontario, Canada”

Many thanks to Bruce MacDonald for the following photographs which were taken at The Sunbury Plantation House, St Philip Parish Barbados. All the bricks present were fire bricks and included English manufacturers such as Ruffors of Stourbridge, Cowen of Newcastle and Duddell of Fenton. 90% of the bricks present appear to have been stamped ‘Glenboig’….
