Found by Miguel Roman Vega. Miguel states – I’m from Chile, specifically from the city of Ovalle, in the Coquimbo Region. About 20 kilometres away, there’s an old copper mine called Tamaya. There are six, 19th-century copper smelters there, and I’ve found some bricks that were reused in the 1970s for bakery ovens in Ovalle….

This brick is in the possession of Kent Murray and a label attached to it states ‘The Adolphus William Copper Mine 1870 – 1879? It is a fireclay circle brick and shows some lovely ‘kiss marks’. Cumbernauld Fireclay Works, Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire. . . .
