1852 – 1853 – Dean Park Tileworks – These works are about ¾ of a mile SW [South West] of Balerno Village and on the property of H Maxwell Esq. The principal tiles manufactured here are for drainage.

1858 – Mineral Statistics of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland for 1858 – A kiln exists at Dean Park, Currie and tiles &c are manufactured there.
