There were several ‘specials’ lying around marked DB
This mark looks like DB B1 but a similar damaged example on site appeared to read DB 31.
I believe this is manufactured by the Douglas Fireclay Works., Dalry, Ayrshire product as per this reference. I will record it as such until proven otherwise.

Found on the site of the old Bonnyside Brickworks, Bonnybridge. Unidentified manufacturer but considering the find site and the fact it was found in a pile of bricks stamped ‘Dougall’, it is very possible that this ‘DB’ stamp stands for ‘Dougall Brickworks or ‘Dougall, Bonnyside’.
