‘Bell’ design

This very appealing ‘brick’ was found in the attic of a house in Glasgow.

It was built in 1884.

The brick appears to be manufactured from fire clay but this is not certain (I have only seen photos).

It measures 7″ x 6″ x 3″ and it is not stamped.

It depicts a bell.

There is no known special history regarding the house.

Perhaps it once formed part of a wall frieze or similar.

A 10p piece is used to give us an idea of scale.
