Stein 63

Found by Ian Suddaby at the old Manuel Brickworks, Whitecross.

This example is not in my possession.

The brick is stamped to a stretcher.

The information below is taken from a Stein brochure located in the Falkirk Archives.

Stein 63 is recommended for use in burning, intermediate and cooling zones or rotary cement kilns and lime kilns.

Stein 63 high alumina quality (64.5%) has good resistance to alkali attack, excellent thermal shock resistance and good crushing strength.
