Sankey BM Scotch

Found at Roughcastle fire clay works, Bonnybridge.

J H Sankey & Son, Essex Wharf, Canning Town, London.

This may be a Scottish product. A collaboration between Castlecary Fireclay & Lime Works, Castlecary and Sankey hence the Scotch reference.  Please see this link for my reasons – click me.

Below – Very similar brickmark but on a different style of brick. The end view shows that both sides slope and this would be used to form an arched kiln roof or similar.

Below – End view. Top and bottom faces are curved hence it is stamped on the ‘straight’ sides.
