Similar bricks were found at Bo’Ness and Granton.

Find location suggests Scottish origins but…

Unidentified maker and mark – KMS

Stein had a brand called Spinella KM – possibly KMS is an abbreviation for this?

or

Stein had a brand called Stein KM – possibly KMS is an abbreviation for this?

Below – 1962 – Stein Refractories brochure detailing brands including Stein KM bricks. Note such bricks came in 3 kinds including one KM (Standard) – possibly KMS?

Below – A hole runs from end to end and the ends are recessed or shaped. One side is also holed but this does not go all the way through the brick.
