Heatheryknowe Patent Glasgow brick found in Montreal, Canada

Many thanks to Gerry L’Orange for sending in this photo and the information.

Heatheryknowe Colliery & Fire Clay Works, Bargeddie, Glasgow

The original fireplace in the house at 1958 Tupper Street, (depicted below), in what’s known as Shaughnessy Village, in downtown Montreal, Canada was built with Heatheryknowe yellow bricks.

There’s a plaque on the house that says it was built in 1874.

When the fireplace was replaced the original bricks were stacked in the alleyway alongside the house.

A neighbour saved one of them as depicted below.
