Fire bricks wrapped in rope – China

0 17

Ron Toothill found some very interesting photographs. They show firebricks, exported from Scotland and England stacked on a loading bay in China.

For a period of time the Chinese were not capable of handling palletised bricks so, on arrival, they removed the bricks from their crates and wrapped them in rope bundles ready for onward transport. Normal firebricks were wrapped in bundles of 4 and chequers / checkers were wrapped individually.

This must have been extremely time consuming as millions and millions of bricks were wrapped in this manner.
