Found at the old Lee/Scottish Terracotta Brick Works site, Carluke
The maker is unknown.
Find location would suggest Scottish origins but … it is however very likely these were manufactured on site.
I believe this to be an electric cable cover.
There are 2 broken sections and the stamp ends ITY – Electricity?
The colour and appearance of the fired salt-glazed clay is similar to bricks found and stamped at the find site so these items could have been made where found.
It appears to have been manufactured as a half-round pipe. The long edges do not appear broken and are manufactured as found.
Below – 17/09/2022 – A near leecomplete example found by Ian Suddaby on the same site.
