Dewar

Found in Paisley by RB*

Drumpark Brickworks, Bargeddie, Glasgow, Lanarkshire

Note the brick has been stamped Dewar in doth directions.

Note the slighty larger gap after the ‘D’ and before the ‘R’ to accommodate the screws holding the stamp.

Below – A similar stamp on a brick found in Glasgow but with additional channels running across the margin of the brick although they stop short of the arris (edge). These channels are also reproduced on the rear but are hard to make out as they are damaged.

Below – A similar stamp found by Gordon Wyle at the Stein Castlecary Works. The gaps referred to above appear slightly larger on this version.. The frog is also a more rounded shape too.
